Jaxon wrote his name last night all by himself, without any help. It wasn't perfect, but it was fantastic for a three year old.
I have reflected on my personal and family life a on a day to day basis. I was reminded by a little girl (while shopping at Target) the other day to slow down in life. Some days I feel rushed and feel like I need to do so much. I feel like some days I tell Jaxon no and stop too much, I am continually cleaning and maybe some days spend a little too long on the computer working or just browsing. I have decided to slow down. A few things I want to change in my personal life as well as my family:
* Let my house get dirty (this is going to be hard)
* Sit and play WITH my kids more everyday
* Let Jaxon be a kid (ie play and get dirty/wet)
* Slow down Jaxon from growing up too fast, this is a hard thing to balance in letting him be a kid while not discouraging him from what he wants to do.
* Shorten my list of things to do while my kids are with me
* Enjoy alone time with each child everyday, even if it is for just a brief period.
I am looking forward to this change. I think it will make me less stressed with trying to keep things clean and in order. This is something I have been thinking about for a while now and finally was faced with a situation in which Jaxon commented on how a mother was treating her daughter and couldn't believe it because the little girl "was just a kiddo like me".
