I have my second sinus infection this month and Jaxon woke up this morning throwing up. Preschool has brought in a whole new bag of germs into this house. I hope our immune systems get really strong after the past 6 weeks of all of us being sick at least once. I have a good feeling we are making a come back to all being healthy again.

Jaxon is 4

Jaxon at 4 years...
Weight 34 # 33%
Height 40 1/4 in 44%

Better late than never...
Jaxon is my best little buddy, we have so much fun together laughing and playing. He is growing up so much, since he started preschool he has made leaps and bounds socially. Jaxon has always been slow to warm up and some may perceive him as being rude, but in reality he just is nervous and doesn't want to talk to you at the moment. I have learned that those that give him time to adapt to his new surroundings get along with him best. Since preschool he has lost a lot of that in certain situations. I am so proud of him everyday with who he is becoming. I have always felt he is a sweet boy, but now others can see that as well. His preschool teachers commented that Jaxon has made the most progress of any kids as far as paying attention and following directions. Jaxon has decided he wants to be a leader and help the other kids learn and do things. He encourages his friends to be polite by saying please and excuse me, it makes me so proud. Jaxon is very good at math, he adds toys that he plays with and often asks me and tells me "good job mom" you are so good. He has taken the lead on math, I think he has taken his mom's and dad's genes on that and math will always come easy to him. We are still working on loving Aliya, she likes her space bubble (as did Jaxon) and does not want to many loves and absolutely does not want him to pick her up.
I am absolutely in love with Jaxon every single day!!!

***I am the most indecisive person when it comes to Jaxon and kindergarten. I was set on him going just after he turned 6., now I don't know. I am going to apply for a charter school this year and if he gets in then we can decide in the spring what we will do. I don't want to let the opportunity of him getting into the charter school pass me by, then if he doesn't get in we can try again next year since it is a lottery. His preschool teachers said he would do fine but will give a better recommendation in a few months. She said charter school would be a great option due to the class size being so much smaller. Only reason I would want him to wait a year is socially and attention span trends of boys with summer birthdays. I would love to hear any of your experiences with boy summer birthdays being youngest and oldest. ebpotts@yahoo.com
Jaxon earned the "Super Bee" at preschool for Super "Bee"havior. He has tried so hard and was so proud to show me and we had to go to Dad's work to show him. Way to go Jaxon!!

Aliya Juel is a climber and very curious little girl. She is so sweet, she loves to cuddle and still goes down to bed without a fight 99% of the time. Aliya loves Jaxon, when he isn't trying to pick her up, and wants to do everything he does. She thinks she is older than she really is sometimes. She just learned how to twirl in circles and does it whenever she hears music. Aliya is slow to warm up at times, yet way more social and outgoing than Jaxon was at this age. She picks out her shoes and flower/bow everyday, she likes to have shoes on. Aliya likes to share and loves to play with her cousin, Miriam.

Jaxon's first day of preschool

Jaxon started preschool. We changed our choice in preschools at the last minute. Nap time took priority and after meeting the teacher, we just weren't feeling it. The preschool we did pick Jaxon loved within three minutes of visiting to check it out. He really liked Miss Sarah and and said he wanted to go there. So the next day we returned, I was prepared to have to stay for half the class and have to walk away to a crying child because Jaxon is so shy, only until he is warmed up. I was wrong, I walked up with the class, in the back, and Jaxon made friends quickly. We got up to the class and I left within 2 minutes. No tears were shed on his end, I have to admit I got teary-eyed because I was so proud at how brave and confident he was.

He was being a complete goofball when I was taking pictures.
His new Buzz shoes
Jax holding his mouse to remind that he has to be quiet as a mouse on his way into the classroom.
And I am off.
A long 2.5 hours later a picked him up. As the class was walking out I could see the happiness in my little boys face. He was so happy to say Hi as soon as he saw me, he had a hard time not being allowed to run to me. Very ecstatically Jaxon replayed his day and showed me what they did. He said he wanted to go back to his preschool again another day, then he called his dad to share his excitement of his first day of preschool. We are glad that he likes it and hope that this remains a positive experience and am glad we found a great preschool that is only 2 days a week. I really want to keep it minimal since he will be in school for the rest of his life and for selfish reasons because I love being with him. One of the days he goes is the day I work so really it is just one time a week I will miss him.
