A day at the Children's Museum

The kids had a great time dancing with Grandma Clark, Aunt Kara, and Miriam. Jaxon built a fort, over and over again. The best part was hiding and then busting the fort down, just in time to build it up again.

Our kitchen cabinet upgrade

We have never loved our cabinets since we bought our home 6 years ago. I have dreamed of refinishing them, but the thought of sanding an stripping and then painting did not sound appealing to me at all. I was at home depot the other day and saw a kit to transform out cabinets without any sanding or stripping. I came home and obsessively researched this kit and all of it's reviews. I decided to give it a try, starting with just the island to see how it goes before I commit to the entire kitchen. I am half way done and amazed at how simple it is.

As I sit here I have decided to paint our mantel as well. Bye bye for now.

January Phone pics

Aliya is Potty trained!!

Aliya Juel has made it 4 days without an accident. And today we went out and ran errands for 3 hours with panties on. And NO accidents. YAY!!! She already mastered the getting out of shopping carts by saying she had to go potty, well today she mastered getting out of her car seat by saying she had to go potty. We made 3 special stops for her to go potty, she won by getting out of her car seat and I won by her going potty at every stop and coming home with clean clothes and a clean/dry car seat. I am so proud and excited. For now we will continue to use cloth pull-ups (hold more than undies, yet not as much as pull-ups, but at least we will send less waste to our already full landfill. I am grateful for my little foldable, portable potty seat, since I have a child obsessed with public restrooms. Hope she keeps it up.

First official haircut

I have been cutting Aliya's hair since she was 3 months but decided she was in need of a professional haircut. These pics are of before and after. It looks so much better. She has crazy hair with lots of curls. Now she likes me to flat iron her hair, like mama's. Little Diva!
