Snowbird

Our annual visit to Snowbird. It was relaxing and good times by all. We discovered a very cool playground that was for all abilities. It was the coolest playground I have ever seen. We visited it daily. We enjoyed movies, games, swimming, and lots of relaxation. Jaxon of course had a great time with all of his cousins.

Just singing in the rain

Jaxon LOVED his rain boots that he got for his birthday. It was very convenient that it rained on his birthday.

Children's Museum and Zoo

We went to the zoo for Tahlula's 1st birthday. Jaxon and Morgan had to read their maps throughout the whole day. Aliya Juel slept most of the day. It was so nice to see the baby giraffe and snow leopard. The kids had so much fun together... as always. Jaxon tells me often that he loves Morgan and I hope that Aliya and Tahlula will be friends.

Fun days with friends...

Jaxons Birthday Parties

For Jaxon's friend birthday party we went to a park and had a Mickey Mouse party. Uncle Grease gave him this life size figure of Mickey. The kids played games and decorated cupcakes. It was a fun party. His cute little friend Mason opened the present he got Jaxon and got embarrassed when his mom took it away. Friends included... Morgan, Noah, Mason, Tahlula, Olivia, Parker, Miriam, Chloe, and Tayah.

On Jaxon's birthday our little family went to Chuckee Cheese for a fun little evening of pizza and games. Jaxon had a blast. I gave him a wood birthday cake... sugar and calorie free :)

August 2009

We have had a busy month of playing. Getting dirty. Relaxing. Playing in the rain and sunshine. And getting clean. Lots of posts with lots of pics to follow.

My tiny little girl

Last Thursday I decided to weigh Aliya Juel because she was still wearing newborn clothes and she was going to be 3 months in a few days. I weighed her and she weighed 9# 1/2 oz, I have a baby scale because Jaxon was so small and I was a first time mama. Jaxon never lost weight but was always very small as well. With Aliya being this small it meant that she has lost 6 1/2 oz. With newborns this amount is quite a bit. I cried a lot last week because I am feeling like an inadequate mother. I am really trying to feed with only breast milk until at least 6 months because with Jaxon we started supplementing with formula at 3 months and it didn't fatten him up any but it did make my milk supply go down. I did a ton of research on-line until wee hours of the night to make the best educated decision. I found a few recipes that are supposed to increase your milk supply. So I headed to Whole Foods to buy all the healthy ingredients to make some oatmeal and cookies (mmm!). As I was checking out the checker commented on how tiny Aliya Juel was and asked me if she was "way" premature. I held back the tears and laughed an uncomfortable laugh as I ran out of the store. Wrong thing to say at the wrong moment. I went their to buy all the necessary ingredients to change just that. So I made the cookies, while being a little skeptical, with flax seeds, yeast, and oatmeal. MMM! They are delicious and healthy. It has been 3 days since I have become completely obsessed with my daughters health. I Have also been pumping twice a day and getting 1/2-1 ounce between feedings and been giving this to her. She has gained 1 1/2 oz. My plan is working. YAY!! I am still going to go meet with a lactation specialist today to see if there is anything else I can be doing to be proactive.  I want what is best for my daughter. I would have assumed that supplementing with formula would be the first thing to do. EVERYONE and EVERY site said not to supplement. I am glad I have decided not to.
If you would like the recipes let me know and I can e-mail them to you.

Jaxon Turns "3"

Jaxon turned 3 today. I can not believe how fast time flies. He is the life of our family. He makes us smile everyday. I am so lucky to be his mama. I look forward to the time I get to spend with him. Just the other day when he got in trouble he said to me, "Don't be mad mama, be happy!" and gave me the cutest smile. It reminded me to take a deep breath and to relax a little bit. He still was in trouble but I looked at the situation from a 3 year olds perspective and realized it wasn't as big of a deal as I was making it. He reminds me daily how precious life is and to enjoy every moment. He is such a happy carefree little boy. He thinks of how others are feeling and doesn't like to see others sad. He always tries to cheer everyone up. I had to work last night and Jaxon asked me where I was going. When I told him I had to go to work he responded by saying, "oh, bummer!" It was the sweetest thing, he really wanted me to stay home with him. I love him! He is my little "boyfriend". He is an adorable little boy, that lights up my world. I could brag about how amazing he is all day but here are just a few things.
*He knows all his letters, numbers, and colors.
*He is very thoughtful and loves everyone.
*He is careful, but adventurous.
*He looks up to his dad and wants to say and do everything his dad does.
*He loves his family, especially his little sister.
*His home is his favorite thing in the world.
*Jaxon sleeps in his own bed... finally.
*He is the best big brother Aliya could ever ask for.
*He is absolutely Amazing!

His 3 year stats...
Weight 30# 4 oz. (37%) WOW!
Height 37" (34%) WOW!
Visions L 20/40 R 20/40
He is finally out of the 2nd %. He was very good at the Dr and called him Dr. Mario, I think his dad let him play too many games while I worked on Saturday.
