Pregnancy update

34 weeks today.... I went to my midwife appointment today to check up on the little one. I have had morning sickness again since last week. So I spent the weekend in bed in between cleaning and playing with Jaxon. I was a little nervous things may not be good. I was relieved my blood pressure had come back down and that Aliya Juel is good. I lost 2 pounds instead of gaining 2, which I liked but my midwife said I need to be careful and thought Zofran would help change that. The midwife I saw today was really sweet and answered all my questions that I always forget to ask. She is an adoptive mom so she was very sweet about Mother's Day coming up. She also gave me a very nice compliment about how cute of a pregnant woman I am. She says I look like I am made to have babies. She told me of a study that involved the mom's body shape in correlation with her child's IQ. The study showed that pear shaped bodies produced children with higher IQ's. Yeah! My ghetto booty has a benefit. Who would have ever thought. I left feeling confident that all is going well and happy that I produce smart babies.

Tulip Adventure

Jaxon and I went to some gardens and saw lots of beautiful tulips. Jaxon was still a little sick so he hid in the stroller for the first little bit and had just one little break down. It was a really fun day with Grandma and Uncle Bryan. Thanks for letting us join in your fun. My favorite part was towards the end, after 3 hours of walking in the sun, we got to sit by some amazing waterfalls and feel the cool breeze.

Easter Activities

Daddy and Jaxon's Easter baskets. Jer got a water cooler filled with bike accessories. Jaxon got puzzles, gardening gloves, Boston Red Sox sippies, and a soccer toothbrush.

Jaxon and his buddy Parker dyeing eggs.

A few days before Easter Jaxon made some wobbly eggs. We filled the eggs with play dough and decorated them with foam and googly eyes. Jaxon loved cutting and gluing.

Jaxon has been sick

What a week?! It all started last Sunday night when Jaxon was up ALL night with an ear and eye infection. We went to his Dr on Monday and got some antibiotics. His Dr decided to give him Augmentin since he had an eye and ear infection that were pretty bad. We were on our way. Two days later the diarrhea started, two days after that the fever, shakes and throw up started. We went to Kids Care worried that Jaxon was having an allergic reaction. The Dr there said these are all normal side effects of Augmentin in really young kids. WHAT??? Why give it to them then? She gave us two options. Begin another 10 day dose of another antibiotic that wouldn't make the diarrhea or throw up subside or a shot once a day for three days that would get rid of the infections and NOT make him worse. I voted the shot, yes it would hurt him, but it meant two more days of visiting the Dr and having Jaxon be monitored or 10 more days of NO sleep, lots of showers, and lots of laundry. DUH!!! So for two days Jaxon didn't eat or drink anything. When we went to get his shot last night the Dr mentioned he would have to get an IV today if he didn't drink anything. How do you force liquids down a sick child, especially when you know 90% of it will end up all over you within 10 minutes? So she gave him some Zofran (what I had for morning sickness). On our way home he fell asleep. Upon waking up from his nap he ate a whole waffle sandwich and was very thirsty. He took sips of water the remainder of the evening. YEAH!! No IV today.
Jaxon slept 6 hours straight last night, the longest stretch in 8 nights. Which meant I got 5 hours of sleep, so needed. He woke up and has already drank 10 ounces. He says he is feeling much better today. I am hoping he is back to normal by tomorrow. It is so sad to see your baby feel like he has for the past week. As far as I go... I am exhausted but hanging in there. Exhaustion in pregnancy leads to lots of braxton hicks contractions. I have a few an hour, I have gotten used to them and looking forward to the subsiding for a few weeks once I get caught up on my rest. I am only working two days a week until the end of April and then have all of May off to hang out with Jaxon and finish getting everything ready for the arrival of Aliya Juel. I can't believe we only have 1 1/2 months left before we are going to have a little baby. We are very excited.
Here is to a healthy and restful week... Please!!

Easter

This year was a mellow Easter. We stayed in town... I didn't want to camp this late in my pregnancy with a 2 year old and in the rain. Mo and Uncle Pat came over for brunch. Jaxon went on an Easter egg hunt in our backyard. He loved it. The Easter bunny left eggs that were filled with little prizes... No candy  :( It was a beautiful day outside.

Prego shot

He picked out his shoes... at least they match his soccer bag. Jaxon is growing up so fast. I am so in love with him.

Micah's birthday party

Jer's family went to Fat Cat's for Micah's birthday party. Jaxon was so excited because Mia was going to be there. Jaxon asks for Mia everyday. We had a countdown until he got to play with her. They had so much fun running around together. When we had to say goodbye Jaxon had a little meltdown... good thing they get to play all day today and again tomorrow. We wish she lived closer :(

Uncle Bryan swung Jaxon and Mia around for a long time. Jaxon kept saying "again, again" and sweet Bryan couldn't say no to his niece and nephew. The kiddos were giggling, they thought it was so funny.

3D pics of Aliya Juel

We went and got a 3D ultrasound today. Aliya Juel was so cooperative and just rested her head against my placenta. She kept making faces at us. We are in love with her chubby cheeks already. I hope this doesn't mean that I she is going to be larger than Jaxon. I love technology!! Jaxon sat on the table during the ultrasound and kept saying how cute he thought Aliya Juel was. He is so adorable when he talks about his little sister. I am very excited for him to be a big brother.

I love her lips! We think it looks like she has Jaxon's same nose. (from looking at Jaxon's 3D ultrasound at 31 weeks)

This is my favorite because she is smiling and it just accentuates her cheeks!! MMM, I just love her so much already. The bubbly, ridgy looking thing by her chin is the umbilical cord.
