Sitting up

Aliya has been trying to sit up for quite some time but hasn't quite committed to it yet. Today she decided was the day. She has been sitting for a few minutes at a time. I love this milestone. It makes play time so much easier. She is so stinkin' cute. I have found the she is ticklish under her arms and loves to giggle when you touch nose-to-nose with her. She is such a fun baby.

Leftovers turned baby food

I had a ton of leftover veggies because they weren't done until half way into the meal after everyone was full. I took this as an opportunity to stock up on baby food. The morning after Thanksgiving while Jax was eating breakfast I seperated the veggies and made lots of baby food. Aliya Juel will be enjoying Thanksgiving for weeks to come.
I pureed...
Turnips,
Parsnips
Sweet Potatoes
Green Beans
Carrots
Potatoes
Aliya loves all her veggies!

I can't get enough of this little guy!

Thanksgiving Day

We had Brunch at my dad's then relaxed before a few of Jer's family came over for dinner and a Holiday movie. On Friday we went to my Mom's and Bob's for another feast. MMMM! There is nothing like my mom's stuffing, it is so delicious. It was a great weekend with lots of family.

Jax and Liya Juel

Yes, I painted Aliya's toes and I think they look so cute. I love her feet. Jaxon love doing the signs for "hang loose", "Peace out", "I love you", and "Rock on". He was trying to teach Aliya how to do them. He wants her to watch every thing he does and is excited when she can join him in the fun.

Eating Solids

We introduced solids to Aliya Juel two weeks ago. She is still having a hard time with the tongue/swallow motion. I gave her peas and carrots this week and she works quite a bit harder to keep every bit in her mouth. She is loving eating real food as well as Puffs. It is so cute to see her little mouth move. I find it funny when people say to me that food will hopefully make her gain some weight and get healthy. She is healthy, I JUST HAVE SMALL BABIES. Can you tell that it is starting to bug me. Yes, she is even smaller than Jaxon but very healthy. Sorry for my little rant.

Aliya Juel is 5 months

Aliya Juel is 5 months. I can not believe it, yet it seems like she has been a part of our family for much longer. Aliya is very close to sitting on her own, she can sit for a little bit but is not all the way there just yet. She is such a happy, mellow baby (except when we pay someone to take pictures). She love playing her jumper, it makes her giggle and gives her the opportunity to see the world from a different point of view. Aliya found her toes last week, it is so funny because now she is always holding on to them, She also loves to suck on her toes. It is very cute! Aliya is still a great sleeper, but has started to wake up at 4 to eat in the past week. I hope it is just that she is going through a growth spurt and will go back to sleeping from 9-8. Aliya brings out such a sweet side of Jaxon, he always comforts her and can ALWAYS get her to smile. We went and got family pictures today and of course Aliya didn't want to smile the whole session. I put her in her carseat and she starts smiling and continued to laugh and smile for the next half hour until she fell asleep. Little stinker! TIme is flying by and I am trying to slow down and enjoy how cuddly Aliya is becoming and watching her grow up. I switched jobs and am loving it. Still only work about 15-20 hours a week but it is very flexible and am able to take the kids with me if I need to. I love me babies or as Jaxon says, "one baby and one kid"
