I love having Aliya Juel as my daughter. She makes me smile everyday. I will admit most days I smile when she changes her clothes over 10 times before lunch. She is so proud and excited about her creative attire. Most outfits include a swimsuit, leotard, multiple leg warmers, extra undies and... I smile when I clean up her clothes because it's easy to throw them in a drawer and it brings her such joy. I am ok with the multiple wardrobe changes, except when it's cold outside and she wants to wear her bikini and skirt around her head. The meltdown starts and I force a cute outfit of my choice on her. I am also, not ok with her clothes obsession when she wakes up at 3 AM, yes AM and will NOT go back to bed until she gets a pink leotard. I was frustrated last night but smiled about it today, as I tuck her in and kiss her good night with her blankie in one hand and leotard tightly gripped in the other. Such sweet innocence of a stylish 2 year old. Love her so much!!

Jaxon turns "5"

Today my sweet boy turns 5, it is bitter sweet to the both of us. Bitter because he is very nervous for kindergarten because it is new, and big groups. Sweet because he just gets sweeter everyday. We have talked about how he will be in a classroom with 18 students and he is actually getting excited for kindergarten.

Jaxon is such an amazing little boy. He is very focused and excels at anything he puts his mind to. He has taken 4 swim lessons and can already swim, kind of. He loves it. Jaxon gets better at reading every time he reads, I am not very good at doing it daily. He is master at LEGOS, that is by far his favorite thing to do. He gets so focused and will build and create for hours, hence why he is only getting Legos for his birthday and the theme for his party. Jaxon is a snuggle bug and is always telling me how much and why he loves me. He has such a gentle spirit, he is always making sure everyone is happy and includes everyone. He is very sensitive and timid in new situations. He gets his feelings hurt easily and freezes up and cries when put in a large group. He is attending a soccer clinic this week and at the beginning when it was with all ages and about 50 kids he cried and froze up. I feared I had wasted my money. As soon as he broke apart with the 5 year olds he was fine, being goofy and having a great time, I even got to leave for the 90 minutes. I love Jaxon so much and am grateful everyday for the joy that he brings n my life, even on the rough days when he drives me crazy. He is such a fun little guy to have around. XOXOXO

Snowbird

When Krissie came back she brought her brother, Bryce in exchange for her mom who had to go home for work. We spent a night up at Snowbird with my mom and then came home and did lots of laundry and packed to head to the Tetons for a few days. By now Jaxon and Aliya Juel were completely in love with Krissie, they always wanted her to come in our car or to sit next to her. It was so special to have all three of my children together. I am so blessed to have these opportunities and do not take them for granted.

A visit from Krissie

Krissie and her mom and dad came on a road trip to visit. Carol hasn't ever met Jaxon. They were here for two nights and then headed on to Great Basin, Las Vegas, Disneyland and Yosemite. While they were here we went to the Park City 4th of July parade, a tradition since Krissie was a week old. Then we had a barbecue at my house with all my family so they could see Krissie. We visited the University of Utah campus, Krissie wants to come here for college :) Her visit was short and sweet, but that's alright because they came back a few weeks later...

Jaxon "graduated" for Impressions Preschool

Jaxon graduated from preschool today. It was a great day. I have watched Jaxon grow up so much this past year, it makes me so proud. Jaxon entered preschool very shy and scared to enter a new environment. He left very confident and with great happiness of how he has grown and developed friendships. I enjoyed picking him up the past 9 months and seeing how proud he was every day to tell me about his day. Miss Sara and Miss Marty really enjoyed having Jaxon in their class and would tell me often how great of an addition he was to the class. Some comments they said over the year (some in front of other parents)
*All the ladies love Jaxon ( I heard this LOTS)
*We LOVE Jaxon, he always makes me smile
*Jaxon is a class clown, when he is nervous he gets goofy
*Jaxon is very determined and never gives up
*He is a problem solver
*Jaxon is the best reader in the class
*If there is someone in the class that needs help, Jaxon will stop his work to help explain
*Jaxon often doesn't finish projects because he takes his time and is very focused
*Jaxon is so much fun

*Jaxon is content being alone
*If another kid makes a hurtful comment, Jaxon ignores it and doesn't let it get him down :)

Jaxon got the award: "No Mountain Too High" for taking any situation and making the best of it. No situation, problem, or project was too much for Jaxon. Sara cried when she gave him the award, it showed how much she loved him.

I am so proud of my sweet boy, I couldn't ask for anything more from him. Jaxon was proud, but also very sad to be graduating form preschool. Proud because it was his day! Sad because it means more change ahead for him, change is still hard. New places, faces are still hard for Jaxon. We are working on getting him excited for kindergarten. He wants to go to preschool forever. I know he will love kindergarten after he warms up a little.
